Services

Managed IT and security work, explained in plain language.

These are the services Van Loon Technologies provides for small and midsize businesses. You do not have to buy all of them. Most clients start with the gap that is already costing time or creating risk.

Day to day

Managed IT Services

Proactive monitoring and maintenance of the network and the technology the business depends on. If you have no dedicated IT staff, or someone is covering IT part-time and it is no longer enough, this is the engagement where we function as your IT department.

The point is fewer surprises: issues caught earlier, a known place to call, and changes made on purpose rather than in the middle of an outage.

Risk

Cybersecurity

Security work aimed at the ways small businesses actually get hurt: stolen mailboxes, shared passwords, unpatched machines, and backups that were never tested. We focus on controls you can explain to an owner or a board without a stack of acronyms.

That includes access reviews, multi-factor authentication, safer administrative accounts, and a clear view of what would happen if a laptop or a mailbox were compromised.

Microsoft cloud

Microsoft 365, Entra, and Intune

Microsoft 365 is where most of our clients live: email, files, Teams, and the identities behind them. Entra is Microsoft’s identity platform. Intune is how company devices get configured and kept in line.

We set these up so new hires start cleanly, departing staff lose access the same day, and files are not sitting in personal drives nobody else can reach.

People and accounts

Email and identity security

Email is still the front door. We help lock down mailboxes, turn on multi-factor authentication, reduce forwarding and legacy logins, and make it obvious which accounts are ordinary users and which ones are administrators.

Identity work also covers shared mailboxes, vendor accounts, and the habit of one password used everywhere. The goal is that a single phished login does not become a company-wide problem.

Computers and phones

Endpoint management

Laptops and desktops are where the work happens and where a lot of risk sits. Endpoint management means knowing which devices are in use, keeping them updated, and being able to remove company access when a device is lost or an employee leaves.

Support here is broader than a remote login when something breaks. It includes standards for how machines are set up in the first place.

When something fails

Backup and business continuity

Backup is only useful if you know what it covers and how you would restore it. We look at email, files, servers, and line-of-business systems, then align retention and recovery with how long the business can actually be down.

Continuity planning is the companion conversation: who decides, what gets restored first, and which vendors have to be on the phone.

Offices and connections

Network and infrastructure

Reliable connectivity, sensible wireless, firewalls that are actually administered, and infrastructure that matches the size of the company. On-site IT consulting is part of this when a remote session is the wrong tool.

We would rather document a simple network than leave a pile of equipment only one former vendor understands.

Defined work

IT projects and migrations

Moves to Microsoft 365, email migrations, office build-outs, server retirements, and other work with a beginning and an end. Projects are scoped so operations do not stop while the change is underway.

If a migration is really an excuse to clean up ten years of shared drives and mystery admin accounts, we say that at the start.

Leadership

Technology consulting and fractional IT leadership

For owners and executives who need someone senior in the conversation: priorities for the year, which vendors to keep, what to spend, and which risks are real. This is advisory and hands-on leadership, not a stack of unread reports.

It fits companies that are too large to improvise and not ready to hire a full-time IT director.

Separate offering

Bitcoin point-of-sale setup

An existing service for businesses that want to accept Bitcoin, including processor setup, optional conversion to dollars, signage, and a walkthrough of the first payment. It is not the core of the managed IT practice, and it is not investment advice.
